Thin opaque silver tape for masking (custom cropping) slides

Silver slide masking tape is used for custom cropping of mounted 2D (or 3D) slides.  Simply apply strips of tape as needed directly to the slide.  Caution: apply tape only to the non-emulsion side of the film.

Compared to our ultra-thin non-opaque silver Mylar® tape, this silver tape is:

Each roll of tape is ¼" wide and 72 yards in length.  These extra long rolls of tape have a large (three-inch) core.

The ¼" silver slide masking tape can be used as a lower-priced alternative to Mylar® tape for mounting slides in our precision stereo slide mounts.  Note, however, that Photo-3D slide mounting guru DrDave has found the Mylar® tape is easier to use for affixing film chips to the mounts.

Silver slide masking tape can also be used to block those annoying light halos that come through the tabbed heat seal mounts sold by some stereo photo supply vendors.  Apply silver tape to the inside of the slide mount to cover the raised tabs.
