Stairway

This is the end of the trail that went through the Bamboo Forest. There is an impressive waterfall that would have been coming down the wall in the background if there had not been a drought. Many of the prints in this portfolio utilized dodging and/or burning in the printing process, but this one had the most extensive. In order to get the contrast I wanted in the foreground, the background ended up pure white. In order to get detail in the background I had to burn it extensively with a low contrast filter. The camera separation was 6 inches.
